Abisoye Ajayi-Akinfolarin is a Nigerian social impact entrepreneur and human development expert who has dedicated her life to helping women and girls in underserved communities.
She is the Founder and CEO of Pearls Africa Youth Foundation, an NGO that educates, supports, and empowers susceptible young girls and women through tech education to achieve economic independence.
Abisoye began her career in EDP audit and Security Associates as a trainee consultant and later as a full-time Associate Consultant and Data Analyst. Her passion for social impact led her to establish Pearls Africa Youth Foundation in 2012 to provide technology skills and mentors to young girls and women.
The foundation’s flagship program, GirlsCoding, has trained over 10,000 young women to code since its inception. The program aims to bridge the digital gap and create opportunities for economic independence. Abisoye’s organisation has also partnered with reputable institutions like the US Consulates, Government, Financial institutions, and UN Agencies, to amplify its impact.
Abisoye’s remarkable work has earned her many awards and recognition, such as being named one of the top ten CNN heroes and one of BBC 100 Women in Tech in 2018. She was also an International Visitor Leadership Program Alumni, a member of the United Nations Interagency Network on Youth Development, a recipient of the HerNewtwork Woman of the Year Award in the Technology Category, and the ELOY Awards Social Entrepreneur of the Year in 2017.
Abisoye’s vision is to create a world where women and girls have equal opportunities to succeed in technology and entrepreneurship. She has transformed the lives of countless women and girls, providing them with the skills and confidence to succeed.
