Taeillo, a Lagos startup founded by Jumoke Dada in 2018, is a furniture company that specialises in African-inspired designs.
Unlike any other furniture company, they allow customers to access a 3D and AR view of the furniture they would like to purchase, in other to see how it will fit in the space they have in mind.
They manufacture and retail furniture by sourcing raw materials from local suppliers while also infusing the African culture into it.
Taeillo organised an augmented reality exhibition at Lagos Social Media Week in February 2020. In October 2021, they held an exhibition at the Eko Design series during Lagos Design Week. Finally, in June 2022, they were featured on CNN’s Inside Africa.
In 2019, Taeillo secured approximately $3 million in funding across three rounds, following an initial $365,000 pre-seed investment. Montane Capital, Co-Creation Hub (CcHub), and B-Knight backed this funding. In January 2021, Cchub invested another $150,000 in the company and as of December 2022, the company was able to raise $2.5 million in seed funding from Aruwa Capital Management.
According to TechCrunch, the founder, Jumoke Dada, said that Taeillo is women-founded, women-led and has 50% female representation in its management team. Over the past years, they have been able to experience real growth in its business by leveraging technology.
