Vivian Mbene is the current Chief Operating Officer at Breet, a fintech company under Inbreetic Technologies. She was appointed on January 15, 2025, and is responsible for coordinating operations, strategy, and product delivery across Nigeria and Ghana. She contributed significantly to the launch of Breet 3.0, an upgrade that has made cryptocurrency simpler, more accessible, and more useful for people and businesses alike.
Vivian has over six years of experience in technical sales, business management, and operations. She is known for leading with speed, experimentation, and clear execution. She believes in the “try-it-now” mindset instead of waiting for perfect conditions. If a small test is low risk, she moves quickly and iterates based on results.
Under her leadership, Breet has been able to transform rapidly by improving crypto-to-cash conversion, simplifying onboarding for new users, and introducing tools like invoicing and multi-currency features that respond to real customer needs.
Before she joined Breet, Vivian was the COO of The Tonic Technologies, where she led strategy, operations, and product development. For instance, she oversaw Cardtonic, a flagship gift-card exchange product. She also managed CardtonicCares, the company’s social impact wing, and she launched initiatives such as Upskill with Cardtonic (where they provided MacBooks and mentorship to emerging tech talent) and medical outreach programs offering health services to women in rural Nigeria.
Vivian is the founder of RediscoverHer, a nonprofit that empowers young women through mentorship, community-building workshops, and support in making intentional life choices. Her work is to help girls and women reach their potential and lead purpose-driven lives.
In interviews, she pointed out that self-doubt and imposter syndrome are real but that authenticity and confidence matter more. She leads with values, agility, and a belief that failure is just a redirection if you keep moving forward.
By being clear, creative, focused and not always trying to fit in, Vivian is changing how leadership looks in Africa’s fintech space.
